The John Lennon Video Collection | Remind John Lennon Concert Music Videos
76.35 minutes
The film quality is often blurred and jumpy, and many feature the famous rumpled bed. Practically all of them include Yoko Ono, and it would appear from this footage an almost obsessive relationship one of need as well as love; many of the videos include their son Sean as well

Track list
1: "Give Peace a Chance" ~ the rumpled bed with John and Yoko, and friends like "acid guru" Timothy Leary, Hare Krishna folks, and the unlikely appearance of Petula Clark amid the mayhem.
2: "Cold Turkey" ~ about John's attempt at kicking the heroin habit.
3: "Instant Karma" ~ lipsynched at the "Top of the Pops" TV program (a U.K. version of "American Bandstand"), while a blindfolded Yoko is doing some sort of performance with flashcards.
4: "Power to the People" ~ includes images from the Tiananmen Square uprising, which seems very out of place, since it happened 9 years after Lennon's death.
5: "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" ~ features some cute kids singing.
6: "Mind Games"
7: "Whatever Gets You Through the Night" ~ features some clever animation.
8: "No. 9 Dream"
9: "Stand by Me" (Ben E. King) ~ a recording studio performance of the wonderful Ben E. King number.
10: "Slippin' and Slidin'" (Penniman, Bocage, Collins, Smith) ~ rock & rollin' with some terrific musicians.
11: "Imagine" ~ John's best known song as a solo artist.
12: "(Just Like) Starting Over"
13: "Woman"
14: "Nobody Told Me" ~ features cameos by Jack Palance and talk show host Dick Cavett.
15: "Borrowed Time"
16: "I'm Steppin' Out"
17: "Jealous Guy" ~ has some clips of the early Beatles days.
18: "Grow Old With Me"
19: "Imagine" (live)

John Lennon fans will appreciate this collection compiled in 1992 because it has much "home movie" type footage, as well as short audio clips from a BBC interview; for those of us who are just casual listeners, it is a mixed bag musically, and of not much interest visually, except as a time capsule of some turbulent times those of us in Lennon's generation lived through, and some of the videos could be shown as examples of "this is why we must not do drugs" in substance abuse seminars.

Lennon won the Royal Mint's public vote for the next "Great Briton" to be immortalised on a limited edition coin.
The Beatles singer, assassinated in 1980, now joins William Shakespeare, Sir Winston Churchill, Charles Darwin and Florence Nightingale in the series. The coin is priced at £44.99.

Lennon fans launched Facebook and Twitter campaigns to ensure the Liverpudlian legend came out on top.
A total of 27,874 people - 92% of those who voted - nominated Lennon for the £5 coin.
Only 5,000 of the coins, issued as Alderney tender, have been minted.

John Lennon Story - VH1 Legends - Remind the greatest musician "John Lennon"

John Lennon Story - VH1 Legends - Remind the greatest musician "John Lennon"
43.17 minutes
A profile of John Lennon, including interviews with Yoko Ono and producer George Martin, documents from his childhood, to his work with the Beatles and as a solo artist, and finally his death.

Death of John Lennon
John Lennon was an English rock musician who gained worldwide fame as one of the founders of The Beatles, for his subsequent solo career, and for his political activism. He was shot dead by Mark David Chapman at the entrance of the building where he lived, The Dakota, on Monday, 8 December 1980; Lennon had just returned from the Record Plant Studio with his wife, Yoko Ono.

Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where it was stated that nobody could have lived for more than a few minutes after sustaining such injuries. Shortly after local news stations reported Lennon's death, crowds gathered at Roosevelt Hospital and in front of The Dakota. He was cremated on 10 December 1980, at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York; the ashes were given to Ono, who chose not to hold a funeral for him.

John Winston Ono Lennon, (9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English rock musician, singer-songwriter, author, and peace activist who gained worldwide fame as one of the founding members of The Beatles. With Paul McCartney, Lennon formed one of the most influential and successful songwriting partnerships of the 20th century and "wrote some of the most popular music in rock and roll history". He is ranked the second most successful songwriter in UK singles chart history after McCartney.

Lennon revealed a rebellious nature and biting wit in his music, on film, in books, and at press conferences and interviews. He was controversial through his work as a peace activist and visual artist. After The Beatles, Lennon enjoyed a successful solo career with such acclaimed albums as John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine". After a self-imposed "retirement" to raise his son Sean, Lennon reemerged with a comeback album, Double Fantasy, but was murdered less than one month after its release. The album would go on to win the 1981 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

In 2002, respondents to a BBC poll on the 100 Greatest Britons voted Lennon eighth. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Lennon number 38 on its list of "The Immortals: The Fifty Greatest Artists of All Time" (The Beatles being number one). He was also ranked fifth greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone in 2008. He was posthumously inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

118.55 minutes
The Compleat Beatles, released in 1984, is a two-hour documentary, chronicling the career of the "Fab Four". Though it has since been supplanted by the longer and more in-depth documentary Beatles Anthology, The Compleat Beatles was for many years largely regarded as the definitive source of information on the Beatles.

John Lennons Jukebox - John Lennon music

48.02 min
Documentary about the songs on a jukebox owned by John Lennon.

Death
On December 8, 1980, The Lennons spent several hours at the studio on West 44th Street before returning to the Dakota at about 10:50 p.m. Lennon was concerned about seeing five-year-old Sean before he went to sleep, so they returned to the Dakota instead of going out to eat. They exited their limousine on 72nd Street, even though the car could have been driven into the courtyard. Jose Perdomo (who was the doorman at the entrance), an elevator operator, and a cab driver all saw Chapman standing in the shadows by the archway. The Lennons walked past, and Ono opened the inner door --- leaving Lennon alone inside the entrance. Chapman called out, "Mr. Lennon!" As Lennon paused to turn around, Chapman dropped into a "combat stance" and shot at Lennon five times with hollow point bullets from a Charter Arms .38 revolver. One shot missed, passing over Lennon's head and hitting a window of the Dakota building. Two shots struck Lennon in the left side of his back and two more in his left shoulder. All four wounds caused serious internal damage, and at least one of them fatally pierced Lennon's aorta.

John and Yoko's Year of Peace - John Lennon and Yoko Ono Video

51.23 min
JOHN & YOKO'S YEAR OF PEACE takes a look back at the summer of 1969 and the marriage of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Instead of going on a secluded honeymoon (which would have been swamped by reporters anyway), they decided to hold a year-long public honeymoon (or "bed-in") in their hotel bed to promote the idea of world peace. Included in this video is footage of John and Yoko in their pajamas meeting Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, media expert Marshall McLuhan, and the very antagonistic cartoonist Al Capp.

It also features for the first time a clean-intro version of A Day in the Life, that would appear later on the CD release of the The Beatles' 1967–1970 compilation.

Imagine: John Lennon, with its wealth of stock Lennon footage and self-narration, proved to be a well-received film and its soundtrack sold well in the US, reaching #31 and going gold. In the UK, the album peaked at #64.

The project arrived at a timely juncture and was successful in thwarting the then-released The Lives of John Lennon by Albert Goldman, a controversial and reputation-tarnishing book which many dismissed as fiction, including Ono and Lennon's close friends, as well as the remaining Beatles.
