George Winston (born 1949) is an American pianist who was born in Michigan, and grew up in Miles City, Montana, United States. Many of his pieces, self-described as "Rural Folk Piano", evoke the essence of a season and reflect natural landscapes.
Winston is often heralded as one of the greatest atmospheric piano composers of non-classical music. He is considered to perform in the new age genre, a label that somewhat limits his potential audience. He also is known for his "PEANUTS" tribute album.
